Most leaders are taught to treat crisis as something you just have to claw your way through. You hustle, react, and try to get things back to the way they were. But disruption doesn’t have to be a bad thing. Many of the systems being disrupted were not working in the first place, an economy built on the backs of the working poor, a democracy shaped by unequal treatment of people of color and women, school systems where some kids are set up to thrive and others are left with barely enough to get by.
The status quo we’re often trying to return to was never the ideal. It was built through a series of choices that led to the outcomes we see today, persistent inequity, burnout, and a gap between what we say we believe and how we actually operate. Crisis doesn’t create those conditions, it reveals them.
In this session, we’ll start from a different place. The moment of greatest disruption is also the moment of greatest possibility. Instead of asking how to get back to what was, we’ll explore what it would look like to build what’s next.
Join Trista Harris, philanthropic futurist and President of FutureGood, to explore how to use this moment as leverage for the change your organization has been needing. Through a futurism lens and practical strategy tools, you’ll move from reacting to shaping, and from managing the present to actively creating the future.
